Last updated: 17 April 2026
This notice explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data submitted through this campaign website.
Who we are
This website is run for the Tim Kelly campaign for election to the Scottish Parliament (East Kilbride constituency and South Scotland regional list), 7th May 2026. The data controller is Tim Kelly, acting as both candidate and registered election agent. You can contact the data controller at [email protected].
What we collect
When you submit the volunteer form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (if provided)
- Your postcode
- The ways you'd like to help the campaign
- Any additional message you send us
When you donate, the payment processor (Stripe) collects the information needed to process the payment and verify donor permissibility under UK electoral law. We retain the donor's name, address, amount, and date as legally required.
Why we use it
- Volunteers: to contact you about helping the campaign. Lawful basis: your consent.
- Donors: to process the payment, verify permissibility, issue a receipt, and meet legal record-keeping obligations under the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
Who sees it
Your information is seen only by the candidate and directly-appointed campaign volunteers. We use the following data processors:
- Formspree — delivers volunteer form submissions to our inbox. Data is processed in the EU.
- Stripe — processes card donations. Data handled under Stripe's published privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — hosts the website.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with Reform UK centrally unless you separately consent. Donor records must be declared to the Returning Officer after the election as legally required.
How long we keep it
- Volunteer data: until six weeks after polling day (18 June 2026), then deleted. If you ask to be removed earlier, we delete on request.
- Donor records: retained for six years from the end of the financial year in which the donation was received, as required by electoral law.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Know what data we hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Ask for your data to be deleted
- Withdraw consent for volunteer contact at any time
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113)
